Director of Wellness
Karen Spence-Williams, RN
A native of Jamaica, Karen moved to South Florida in 1994 and is a registered nurse with 20 years of acute, long-term, skilled, home health and hospice care experience. She brings a wealth of knowledge to supervisory and managerial roles and previously served as Director of Nursing at a five-star community for five years.
Karen began in the hotel and tourism industry — honing her skills in customer service and hospitality. She started her nursing career in the United States as a home health aide.
She felt she could do more and became a certified nursing aide, then a medical assistant specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. She continued her education to become a licensed practical nurse and next completed her associate in science and nursing degree at Palm Beach State College in 2008. She’ll soon complete her bachelor’s in science and nursing.
Serving the community has always been a personal passion for Karen, and she contributes through teaching and mentoring at many local nursing schools. She is also a notary public and has received additional training as legal nurse consultant.
For Karen, the most rewarding part of working at The Club is learning each resident’s history and helping their family navigate the aging process.
Business Office Manager
Born and raised in West Palm Beach, Erica has worked in the senior living industry since she was 16 years old. Her passion for directing, leading and managing shines through in her position as Business Office Manager at The Club at Boynton Beach.
When Erica worked at a previous community, a resident who had Parkinson’s introduced her to jewelry making. She would meet with the resident twice per week for an hour session to help her tie knots, insert clips on the bracelets and earrings, and assist in pictures of her work. From this experience, Erica discovered a love for jewelry making, which eventually led to her hosting beading classes at the community and even to creating her own online jewelry boutique.
Before joining the team at The Club, Erica spent the last 12 years at a local independent living community. She has always felt drawn to the senior living industry and can’t imagine working in any other field. Erica has a degree in supervision management and is a mother of two.
