Things to Do in Boynton Beach with Older Adults PART II: Nature & Sports

This post is the second piece of a two-part series on Boynton Beach attractions for older adults.

The Club at Boynton Beach is committed to providing residents with the best in holistic care for the mind, body, and spirit. Instrumental in reaching this goal is our location. Our upscale senior living community is within reach of numerous attractions perfect for older adults and their families. Situated just a few miles from the beach, many avenues for recreation are focused on the seaside. With a little exploration, you’ll find that Boynton Beach is home to many unique and exciting opportunities for adventure!

Explore Florida’s Flora and Fauna

South Florida has so much to offer for those seeking fresh air! At The Club, our focus is on your health and wellness, so we are big fans of any activity that involves sunshine. And you can get your daily dose of Vitamin D while watching lions and giraffes walk right past your car! At Lion Country Safari, you and your family can indulge your curiosities together, as you drive through seven sections of this enormous park. Zebras, ostriches, wildebeests, and rhinoceros are just a few of the animals you can get up close and personal with during this experience!

Ocean Inlet Park, a few miles from The Club, is the perfect stop for nature lovers. Located on the Intracoastal Waterway across the street from the Atlantic Ocean, this park provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation. The whole family will enjoy picnicking, walking through the marina, and saltwater fishing. Of course, there are plenty of parks all along the coastline of Boynton Beach, but Ocean Inlet Park is one of our favorites!

Have you ever ridden in an amphibious vehicle? Diva Duck will take you through the city before driving straight into the Intracoastal for an aquatic tour of two local islands! During the land exploration portion of the experience, you and your family will get acquainted with old and new West Palm Beach. Beginning downtown, you’ll pass the convention center—a great venue for trade shows and exhibits—and head for a view of some historic attractions on Palm Beach. After hearing more about these renowned landmarks, you’ll make your way to the undisturbed Intracoastal for a relaxing ride on the water.

Cheer on the Home Team

We can’t mention attractions local to The Club without including sports. Are you and your family baseball fans? The new FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches is the spring training home of the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. The whole family can enjoy the state-of-the-art facility while watching a game and enjoying the fresh, Florida air.

Looking for something a little out-of-the-box? Did you know that Wellington, Florida (roughly 35 minutes from The Club) is known as the Equestrian Capital of the World? Their annual Winter Equestrian Festival is a twelve-week showjumping competition that attracts visitors and competitors from around the world.
